Management Team
The Management Team is a functional body consisting of group of senior executives who are not members of the Board of Directors, but have power to take managerial decisions affecting the future developments and business prospects of the Company.
Luis Comas has over 30 years of experience in the retail and restaurant industry. During his professional career, he started and grew some of the leading franchise and equity brands across multiple markets in Europe and the Middle East. His achievements include a range of successful positions held with Burger King brand as well as overseeing Pizza Hut and KFC business as General Manager for YUM Iberia.
He also was a key contributor to the initial launch of Taco Bell in Spain. Recently, before joining AmRest, Mr. Comas was the Vice President of the Fast Casual division and Family Dining of Alshaya Group, responsible for managing the group’s fast-casual brands in the Middle East division.
He studied Law at the University of Malaga.
Named as CPO of The Year in Mexico, Ismael is a seasoned Senior HR Executive with more than 20 years of experience in multicultural businesses with a global presence. He has led several HR transformation processes and aligned organizational current and future needs with business goals. His strengths are in Strategic HR planning, organizational design, business process reengineering and transformation, M&A and change management solutions.
Since 2013, he was a Human Resources Vice President for Bachoco - the world’s 5th largest poultry production and an organization with $4 billion in sales and 25,000 employees. Prior to Bachoco, Ismael was Corporate People and Change Management Director for Grupo Modelo in Mexico City and worked 11 years at CEMEX in HR located in Madrid.
He has University degrees including MBA and Masters in HR. Currently, he is Consultative Committee President of AMEDIRH (Mexican Human Resources Management Association) and NAHRMA (North America Human Resource Management Association) delegate (USA/CAN/MEX).
Eduardo Zamarripa serves as CFO for AmRest Holdings and brings more than 15 years’ experience in areas such as Finance, Strategy and Corporate Governance. Previously Mr. Zamarripa was CFO of Grupo Finaccess, Chief Strategy Officer for Conservas La Costeña, where he was a member of the Executive Committee. He also held several positions at Grupo Modelo in the Strategy, Finance and Investor Relations divisions. Prior to his 11-year stint at Grupo Modelo, Mr. Zamarripa was a consultant at Deloitte and an Auditor at KPMG.
Mr. Zamarripa is a Certified Public Accountant from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and completed an MBA at the Instituto Panamericano en Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE) in Mexico as well as an Executive Program at Wharton University.
Since 2005 Mr. Zamarripa has continuously held a teaching position in the Master’s in Finance Program at the Universidad Anahuac México.
Daniel del Río Benitez has more than 27 years of experience in the area of procurement, logistics and manufacturing.
He was working for Grupo Modelo, being responsible for multiple areas such as planning, manufacturing, logistics and capacity and expansion for the business units related to brewing, malting, glass and aluminum packaging.
He also served as head of the Supply of Grupo Lala, leader in the dairy market in Mexico.
Daniel del Río holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Anáhuac México and completed several postgraduate studies at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE), and Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo México (ITAM), as well as various specialization courses related to his functions in procurement, manufacturing and logistics in different universities in both Mexico and the U.S.
Santiago Gallo, Industrial Engineering (ITAM) & MBA (UIA - Universidad Iberoamericana), has 18+ years of Marketing experience, both in Mexico and the USA, plus 2 years as Operations Director for Walmart’s Bodega Aurrera.
He has collaborated with leading CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) / FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) brands like Trident, Clorets, and Halls. In the beverages / beer sector he worked with brands like Modelo Especial, Victoria, Pacifico & spirits such as Tequila Casa Noble. His role in retail was both as the Marketing Director for Walmart Mexico as well as a Regional Operations Director, leading 120+ stores and a team of 5,000+ associates. Before coming to AmRest, Santiago was the Marketing Director for Domino’s Pizza Mexico.
He has the ability to balance strategic thought processes with execution efficiency thanks to a positive & results oriented attitude, always capitalizing both his Marketing and Operations experience.
Mauricio Gárate is a Mexican lawyer with more than 25 years of professional experience, who had started his practice in major law firms in Mexico and New York.
Over the last 15 years he has established himself as one of the most experienced international corporate lawyers, holding senior positions in the most prominent companies in industries such as entertainment, consumer products, logistics and professional services.
Mauricio has extensive experience in negotiating a wide range of commercial transactions, as well as M&A, financing and capital markets transactions.
Mauricio Gárate studied at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
Robert Żuk joined AmRest in May 2017 as Global Chief Information Officer.
Robert has over 20 years’ experience in Information Technology in well-established multinational corporations and dynamically growing companies.
Before joining AmRest, Robert held number of Senior Executive position in AXA Poland, Liberty Mutual Insurance Poland and GE Capital.
Robert holds a M.S. degree in Information Systems from Technical University of Gdansk, and MBA degree from University of Gdansk.
Ramanurup Sen is an experienced Supply Chain and Procurement professional in the food service sector, having more than 30 years’ experience in the restaurant and food manufacturing industry. He started his career in India working in food manufacturing for a Danone subsidiary before moving to the restaurant sector working for Yum Brands, Starbucks and Nando’s.
Since 2000, he has been based in London in various UK, European, EMEA and Global roles operating in both equity and franchisee business environments. His previous roles include Head -Supply Chain (Indian Sub-Continent), European Supply Manager and Pizza Hut UK Supply Chain Director while with Yum, Supply Chain Director- EMEA for Starbucks and Group Procurement and Supply Chain Director for Nando’s. Prior to joining AmRest in Oct 2018 as Food Service President, his role in Nando’s involved setting up a Group Supply Chain function to leverage the global scale of the business across Europe/Africa/Asia/North America/Australia for both the restaurants as well as the consumer packed goods division in areas of Direct and indirect procurement, manufacturing and logistics.
Ramanurup Sen is a graduate in Production Engineering and an MBA, both from Jadavpur University, India.
Responsible for KFC management in the markets where AmRest operates the brand: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain.
Responsible for Starbucks management in the markets where AmRest operates the brand: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia.
Responsible for Pizza Hut management in the markets where AmRest operates the brand: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia and Slovakia.
Responsible for Burger King management in the markets where AmRest operates the brand: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
Responsible for La Tagliatella management in the markets where the brand is present: Portugal and Spain.
Responsible for Sushi Shop management in the markets where the brand is present: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxemburg, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.
Responsible for Blue Frog management in the market where the brand is present: China.
