RB 20/2013 Information on Candidate to AmRest Supervisory Board

The Management Board of AmRest Holdings SE (“AmRest”,”Issuer”) informs about receiving on June 4th, 2013 from one of the AmRest shareholders, Warburg Pincus Holdings VII B.V., with its registered head office in Amsterdam, the notice of intention to nominate Mr. Bradley D. Blum (“the Candidate”) as independent candidate to AmRest Supervisory Board during Ordinary General Shareholders’ Meeting on June 27th, 2013.

Mr. Bradley D. Blum is founder and owner of Blum Enterprises. 

As chief executive, Mr. Blum led multiple companies back to profitability. His leadership at Olive Garden (1994 to 2002), Burger King (late 2002 to 2004) and Romano’s Macaroni Grill (late 2008 through 2010) evidences his track record of value creation. 

Mr. Blum has received many restaurant industry awards including the MUFSO Operator of the Year and Golden Chain Awards in 2000 and the 2010 Menu Masters Innovator of the Year Award. 

Early in his career, Mr. Blum was a top marketing executive at General Mills. He was a key executive in the successful start-up of Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW), a joint venture between Nestle and General Mills. 

Mr. Blum is the owner of Dogmatic restaurant, which opened in New York City in 2008. 

At the beginning of 2012, Mr. Blum became board director, strategic partner and investor at Leon restaurants.  He also serves as chairman of the board of Boundary Waters Brands.

Mr. Blum has served on the Advisory Board of Sun Trust Bank and as chairman of the Economic Development Board for the City of Winter Park, Florida.  He currently serves on several non-profit boards: the Board of Trustees of the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Central Florida; the Board of the Himalayan Youth Foundation, and the Board of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Blum earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Urban Studies from Denison University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where he majored in marketing and finance. 

In accordance with the statement received from the Candidate, AmRest informs that Mr. Bradley D. Blum performances outside the Issuer’s business are not competitive towards the business of the Issuer and the Candidate does not participate in a competitive company as a partner in a registered partnership or other types of partnership, a member of the governing bodies in a corporate organization and does not participate in another competitive legal person as a member of its governing bodies. Mr. Blum is not listed in the Insolvent Debtor Register kept in accordance of the Law on National Court Register.
