RB 10/2026 AmRest Group appoints new CEO
The Company announces that Luis Comas is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of AmRest after six years of leadership, to pursue new personal and professional interests.
Effective February 1st 2027, María Elena Pato-Castel will be taking over as the new Chief Executive Officer, bringing in over 30 years of industry experience. Ms. Pato-Castel is returning to AmRest, having previously spent almost a decade with the Group.
During six years at the helm, Mr. Comas has overseen growth and expansion for AmRest. Under his leadership, the Group entered new markets, broadened its commercial network, and expanded its portfolio of brands. Notably, AmRest is preparing to launch Taco Bell in Poland later this year, marking the latest milestone in its strategic development. Mr. Comas will remain in his position until January 31st 2027.
Ms. Pato-Castel brings over 30 years’ experience in the consumer goods and restaurant industries across Europe and internationally. In recent years, she has served as an independent director and Board advisory. Her prior experience also includes board roles at various Yum! Brands subsidiaries operating KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in Spain, as well as extensive involvement as an owner-operator of KFC-branded outlets in Iberia.
The Board thanks Mr. Comas for all his services and contributions during his years with the Group. Likewise, the Board appreciates Mr. Pato-Castel for accepting the position of CEO and expresses its confidence and best wishes for a successful performance in her new position.
